Granny and Walla Walla WA

Above is a picture of Scott and his Granny. Since we had a three day weekend still ahead of us, we decided to drive to Walla Walla for a night to see this sweet lady. She recently moved into some new accommodations, so we thought we would check them out. She gave us the full tour, and we got to sample the breakfast menu too!
We were lucky enough to be there at the same time as Scott's cousin and his wonderful family. We had a couple fabulous meals at Scott's Aunt Ruth's house. They are such a warm and inviting group, we love being around them. Ruth sent us home with a box of plums and two jars of peaches or apricots ( I forgot to ask which it was).
We needed a little break from driving so we stopped here the L'Ecole No 41 Winery in Walla Walla for a couple bottles of wine.... no, not to drink, we brought it home silly! It was so packed in there we couldn't wait for a sample, so hopefully we will break them open when Scott's sis comes in a couple weeks. Why did I pick to stop at this winery of all the wineries? Look how cute that building is... how could I not???

And we stopped in Sunnyside for squeaky cheese and a little tour of how cheese is made.... hmm, wine and cheese.... love it! :D

We also stopped for fruit and veggies in Yakima at a roadside stand, peaches, apples, corn and a couple other fun things. The car was pretty full when we finally pulled in last night. Our last stop of the night was our favorite Mexican restaurant in Issaquah WA Las Margaritas.

Glad to be home :)
