November cottage crafts

I rearranged the cottage last week in preparation for another class.
I added some Christmas lights that had been left by the previous owners hanging on the deck of the house.
They added just the right amount of extra light!

We had some new faces at this class which was so fun!
I tried smaller tables this time too. Instead of the one large table we used the other times.
 The beverage area.
One of the food areas! Too much food!
The ornament making area! Jessica created kits for making an adorable reindeer out of corks.
 So cute!

Our other project was this tin with gift tags to keep or give as a gift.

We had a great time! Next class December 3! Stamp-a-stack in the morning and Christmas gifts in the afternoon!
Have you been creating anything fun for Christmas?

A few weeks ago a blog "friend" passed away. We had emailed back and forth a couple times when I first moved here. I read her blog faithfully, was in such awe that she was a designer for a stamp company and I really enjoyed her style.
Last year she announced on her blog that she was fighting a cancer that was not treatable. Although we hadn't ever "officially" met, I did see her a few times at my work and had made a few reminder calls to her regarding appointments. Even has early as last month.
She had 3 young children at home and blogged about her illness, her feelings and everything she was going through. I really hoped she was going to beat it! Unfortunately, she didn't. Her service was last week, I really struggled with whether I wanted to go or not. It is such a strange thing to feel like you were friends with someone, you know so much about them, but haven't ever met. In the end, I decided the best way to honor her was to spend the day crafting in my craft cottage. The day was a gorgeous clear autumn day. I reminded myself to be Thankful everyday for the things I have in my life and crafted. ALL. Day. Long. I will miss reading your posts, hearing about your family and seeing your amazing work Katie.

My creations for the day, some samples for an upcoming Stamp-a-stack.

And a newly decorated mantel.

A peek at the craft cottage

Last night a few friends came over to make luminaries for Relay for Life, so I snapped a few pictures of the progress so far on the craft cottage. This is the entrance to my craft cottage.
I added some tissue paper pompoms to the ceiling to help lighten it until I can find some time to paint the whole room.
Then added some drop cloth pennants with twine and ribbon. In the background you can see the desk/hutch my hubby built for me 6-7 years ago. I will do a more detailed post more towards the end of the month.
Added the WELCOME vinyl I found at TJ Maxx, below is an old window I purchased at ReStore, it will hold family pictures. I've decorated my mantle with different found objects that I love.
Totally in love with the area! Ack! happy dance!
Had to bring in an extra table to craft at. Some how I didn't get a picture of my craft island/table so will have to do another post for that! ha!
My coffee/tea chocolate area! Hope you enjoyed my little peek! I will try to do one more post before leaving for the birth of my grandbaby! I will be out of town for 3-4 weeks!

Have a crafty day!

DREAM bunting...

I wanted to quickly share my DREAM bunting/pennant. I picked out some cute fabrics at JoAnn the other day for a few projects around the house. The first one being a bunting above the bed in the beach room.
I love this fabric soo much I may use it in the laundry room too! Which can I just say quickly, is coming along marvelous! I am loving it! Anyway, I used 3 different fabrics, some of my wrinkle ribbon and a few black letters I had in my stash.
I decided to keep it simple with not a lot of decorations. I will be making another one for the garden room once I figure out the decor in there.
LOVE!
I have been working away in the craft studio too, trying to get it together enough to use in the next few weeks. It is coming together... so many things to get done! Ha!
The sun is out this morning, which means I need to get the housework done so I can do a little yard work before the rain tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!

"Beach" guest room version one

Had a GREAT weekend with my bestie Kari! Here are a few pics of how the room turned out, so far! I found the comforter on sale at Target... woohoo! Score! It is a soft grey, soo pretty.
I need a few more things on the walls, but will take my time looking at flea markets and antique stores. Found the beautiful white throw on clearance at Pier One.
The light is perfect for the room. As you can see, my handyman didn't get the crown molding up. But hopefully soon!
I am looking for a different table for this side of the room as well. But this one works for now.
This table is one of my favorite buys, it makes me happy to look at. Just needs a new coat of paint still.
I hadn't planned on hanging curtains in here, but am re-thinking that idea. I think the window needs some softening.
Overall, I am pleased. Kari said the bed is very comfy... =)  Who's next?
Thanks again Kari for coming to visit!
