A clean slate...

Spent most of the day working in the back yard. I started by bringing all the tools and yard decor out of the shed...
Then moved onto weeding the bed by the shed! Oops, that wasn't on the list for today! LOL! Do you ever do that? Start with a plan then begin doing something you weren't even planning? Unfortunately, I do it ALL the time! Ha!
It sure looks nice though, and it was going to need to be done at some point! I am trying to decide what to do with this area. I like the idea of putting some kind of vine that could maybe grow up the tree and a little on the shed? I also like the idea of an old bike with a basket on front or wheelbarrow filled with flowers? I kinda like the idea of making a fairy house too! Hehe!
Uhmm, maybe I should plant the garden, put up a little fence with a gate.... oops, again not on the list for today!
This area here would be so perfect for a deck with a hot tub! Look at the view from here...

Isn't it fabulous?!
Okay, okay I did get the patio cleaned. The pots filled with new soil ready for flowers...
The rest of the yard decor cleaned and put up...
Around the pond cleaned up and weeded...
The table and chairs scrubbed clean enough to eat my dinner on tonight! Yummy taco salad and a beer!
Played with Koko ALL day!
Can't wait to sit here again tomorrow... after my run to Starbucks for a latte and a scone! It is Mother's Day afterall!
I am back at the front window again tonight, waiting for the sun to set. The house is clean, the laundry is done, I have 2 magazines to flip through and am going to be searching the internet for ideas on my color scheme for my flowers this year so I can shop tomorrow! (Remember last year was red, white and blue.) And Koko is asleep next to me, I think I finally wore her out!

Had a great day! But I am missing Scott terribly, and just got a call that my Grandma is back in the hospital. I don't know much right now... hoping to hear more soon =/ So very glad I will be seeing Scott and ALL three kids on Thursday!

Hope your day was just how you planned it to be!

A beautiful morning in May

Woke up to a beautiful morning here in Bellingham! I love this view from the front window, I have a terrible habit of sitting and looking out the window for too long and wonder where the day has gone! haha!
This morning I took my coffee, laptop and paper and pen outside on the chaise lounge.
I listened to the birds, the little waterfall, watched the sun rise higher and higher in the sky and blogged! What a great morning! While trying to decide what to accomplish today and tomorrow...
I threw ALL the toys Koko could find for her to fetch. I kept a close eye on the bunny nest, but she has them pretty well covered this morning. Last night about 10:00 I spyed her out feeding them, but couldn't get a picture without scaring her away, so I left her alone.
On my list for the weekend is to clean up the back patio...
Plant some flowers in the pots... get the little cabinet sanded for new paint...
Maybe a few new fish for the pond, there are only 2 left from the 4 we put in last year.

I am hoping to finish the laundry (only me so maybe 2 loads) vacuum, dust, scrub the bathroom, paint the kitchen and craft! Guess that means I better get up off this lounge chair and get busy! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Go White! Go Jessica!

After the Cinco de Mayo party at work we headed out to the soccer fields to support my friend Jessica!
She is AMAZING! She play's soccer every Wednesday night! She does yard work, she walks on her breaks at work and she loves to craft! She will stay awake until 11:00 PM just to complete a craft project!
I will so miss working with you my friend! BUT, hopefully we will see a little more of each other when we meet for lunch or coffee! And for SURE some crafting!!!

Relay for Life, Cinco de Mayo taco feed

I spent the evening May 4 chopping, cooking, baking, and crafting! What a FUN night! I haven't had the opportunity to bake in about a year, so I was a happy girl! I took on the task of supplying the food for the Cinco de Mayo party at my work in support of Relay for Life.
I browned 6 pounds of hamburger, chopped tomatoes, lettuce, onion, baked 50 Margarita cupcakes (I did not put the alcohol in them since they would be at my work, even though the alcohol would have cooked out of them) I got the recipe here. They were delish! But as a side note... they do not raise very much so fill the liners with batter!!!
I frosted them with a butter cream frosting and bought pretty lime green sugar to sprinkle on top!
In between the baking I created these pom poms! They kinda remind me of pinatas so I thought they would be fun hanging over the table at work! ( There are lots of tutorials available)
They were so fun to make! I learned not all tissue paper is created equal though! I did not like the tissue paper from Target... or the Dollar Tree! Loved the tissue paper from Fred Meyer which I believe was maybe Hallmark??? Not sure though!

The Cinco de Mayo taco feed did not generate as much money as we had hoped, but that's okay I had lots of fun and it was for a good cause! The only real leftovers were 8 boxes of taco shells that I am donating to the letter carriers food drive this weekend, so it all worked out in the end!

Did you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

Happy box!

I received a Happy box today! It was wonderful to come home from a LONG day that started at 3:00 am saying goodbye to Scott at the airport, to being at work at 6:45, and giving my notice at work to a box full of goodies from Papertrey Ink my FAVORITE store!
More buttons, paper and stamps!
Notice the cute airplane stamp!?!
Sorry about the glare, I took the pictures tonight when it was dark out already. I will try to take new ones tomorrow.
I can't wait to try the ric-rac die cut! SOOO cute!
I also stopped at the scrapbook store on my way home.

Scott made it safely to Miami :) Special thanks to my friend Andrea, she took me to dinner and a walk around the marina! Tomorrow evening will be filled with cooking and preparing for Cinco de Mayo for work, I will be sure to take a few pictures to share!

Hope you had a great Monday!

Miami, here he comes!

Sent the hubby off this morning to Miami! I will see him in Billings at the end of next week for his fathers memorial service. He is scheduled to be in Miami until a few days before we leave for Mexico at the end of June! It was kind of strange this morning at 3:40 am telling him goodbye and realizing he won't return back to Bellingham until almost July! Summer time!
I am giving my notice at work this week, I will work until May 21 then will head down to spend some time with Genna and Justin and then my Grandma and dad before heading to Miami for a couple weeks before we go to Mexico! Hoping my mom will come stay with Koko while we are in Mexico, then stay a couple weeks after so we can play! It will be so nice to have the summer to accomplish all the projects rolling around in my head! Crafting, gardening, organizing, painting, decorating, visiting friends and family, camping... this list goes on and on!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Mini Photo Shoot 2010

I drug the hubby to another mini photo shoot at Treasury of Memories by Carly Tee Photography. I couldn't help myself! Look how CUTE that background is! Carly, you need to make sure the summer photo shoot does not have a cute background! He!
You can't beat the price! $25.00!
We received a CD with 22 pictures on it to do with what we please!
So worth it!
Thank you Carly, and thanks honey for humoring me once again! I love you!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Forgotten Easter egg and baby bunnies...

When the three little kids were here for Easter we hid LOTS of eggs Easter morning. Both real ones and plastic ones! ( Above is Morgan, Matt, Trinity holding Koko, and Colton)
Well, I guess one got left behind, and guess who found it one morning in the back yard! She was NOT going to give up her treasure!
She also found this... look a little closer...
You can just barely make out the bunny ears. We have a bunny nest in the back yard. Unfortunately, she found it and brought one to me. It didn't make it :( she tried to be gentle with it but dropped it a few times before I realized what she had. She also brought one to Scott, since he didn't read my text to not let Koko out in the backyard unless she was supervised due to her having found a bunny nest. His didn't make it either :( But now we know it is there, and Koko is staying away. Mommy bunny comes a few times a day to care for the ones that are left. I plan to try to take pictures once a week to document them growing up! Should be fun!
