Christmas Decor 2009

Welcome to the Farnes home... our upstairs fireplace mantel. I found a branch in the front yard that fell off one of the pine trees and brought it inside. I added some Dollar Tree snowflakes, Michael's $2.49 mini lights, 50% off pearl and crystal garland, a banner from a kit I bought from Treasury, and that will serve as our "tree" this year! LOL!

I am hanging the Christmas cards we receive from mini clothes pins that I have glued buttons, ribbon, or small words to. They hang in our dining room window.
I bought this garland from TJ Maxx for $4.99! I just wrapped it around the light fixture.
The dining room.... with the Christmas cards hanging on the curtains. We received the bouquet of flowers yesterday from Scott's mom and stepdad! Thank you they are perfect!
I did add the little JOY embellishment to them though ;) I couldn't resist. I bought the candy cane letters from Michael's on clearance 64 for $2.49, and just used some buttons to glue them together.
A few more candles, more cedar from the front yard and we are all ready for the holidays! The best part? I didn't have to get out ALL those Christmas boxes from storage, so putting it all away will be easy peasy!

James Street Estates 2009

Saturday morning we work up to fog. It is so pretty, we love the fog. It makes everything so quiet, and peaceful.
Saturday night we decided to head to one of our favorite places to eat.
Boomers drive in. Koko loves it, cause we eat in the car so she doesn't get lonely!
After dinner we decided to head to see the Christmas lights at James Street Estates, we hadn't been before. We missed the Lighted Boat parade this year, we were in Walla Walla, so this was a nice substitute.
Doesn't Koko look like she is enjoying the lights?
It was fun to see all the houses lit up, especially since we didn't put lights up this year.

Christmas is coming! Are you ready? I think we are!
Christmas cards-done :)
Grocery shopping-done :)

Holiday Inspiration 2009

gingerbread house that sits on the edge of a mug
not martha

I have been in LOVE with so many things I have found in Blogland lately! How CUTE are those little gingerbread houses sitting on the edge of hot chocolate or wassail! I wish I had a reason to make some up, oh, and the time too ;)

little birdie secrets

These little kitchen towels are adorable, I actually went to JoAnns to try to find some fabric to make some of these and a few other things, but the line was so long I decided to put them on my list for next year!

little birdie secrets

I did make a few of these, and am having a group of my coworkers over so they can make one for themselves, but I am in LOVE with the ribbon detail of this one.

little birdie secrets

I absolutely ADORE these ornaments! Can't wait to get a Cricut and make my own! Things to get: old sheet music from Goodwill, Glitter- check, buttons- check!

its the little things that make a house a home

Do you see the first jar? Love the ornaments hanging inside and the epsom salt!
finding beauty at home

Love this gift card holder, button, ribbon and bling!

little big nest

Love these burlap pillows too! Burlap is so big right now, I've seen stockings, ornaments, and table runners all from burlap.

What have you found that inspires you? I'd love to hear!

Christmas tags and a birthday banner

I made this for the person I was secret Santa for at work, it was her Birthday.
It is a birthday banner, I have been seeing them in blogland and had been wanting to make one.
I kept it simple, but it turned out pretty cute.
Some of the Christmas tags I made this year.
Unfortunately, with all the traveling we did this year and my being sick, I did not get to put a tree up, exactly.... I will be back with our Christmas decor this year ;)

Less than a week til Christmas!

Shopping- done
wrapping- done
decorating- done *wink*
packages mailed- done
Christmas cards- almost done

Thanksgiving 2009

Sorry, I didn't mean to disappear like that! Let's finish Thanksgiving, cause Christmas is almost here! LOL!
This is my Grandma.... she is not doing as well as she probably could. :(
Me, Trinity, Genna and Jestin!
Matt, Adam, Colton, and Justin! I'm not sure how I managed to not get pictures of my dad, stepmom, uncle and aunt.....
Jestin and Scott at Jestin's apartment.

The summit between Nevada City California where my dad lives, going to Reno Nevada where the kids live. It was slow going.... took us an extra hour, but it sure is pretty!

The hubby picked some mistletoe for his loving wife! Hehe! He didn't know that mistletoe grew in trees, I kept seeing it as we were driving home thru Oregon, so he decided to pull over to pick some! Isn't he sweet? I think so! *wink*

I think Koko was happy to get out of the car at the end of the trip! 15 hours each way, that does include fuel and potty breaks. But so worth it! It was great to see my family, the kids and their apartments, even had a surprise visit with Scott's brother, his wife and brother in law while in Reno. We are very happy that all three kids are happy and well. Even more glad that they are their for each other.

Hope your Thanksgiving was just as thankful!

Our visit to Nevada City

We finally arrived to our destination Nevada City, California. My dads house! Yay! These are the goats, they were so funny, it was almost like they were posing for the picture!
The chickens.....
Morgan, such a cutie!
Matt wanted to adopt Koko! He was great with keeping her entertained! He is such a sweet boy!
Trinity, the goats belong to her, she shows them and has quite a few ribbons. She is a beautiful girl, and so sweet, we are hoping she will come visit this summer for a week or two!

Danny was visiting his mom :( so we didn't get to see him.

This is Colton, he does not like getting his picture taken. He loved Justin and Adam, anywhere they would go, he would follow! Such a cutie!

And this is Sabrina! We did not get to see her as much, she and her dad had other plans for Thanksgiving, but it was so nice to see her!

More to come!

Thanksgiving road trip

We spent Thanksgiving weekend with our three children and my dad and his family. It was a VERY long drive! We headed out after work on Tuesday and drove as far as Salem Oregon.
This is where Koko layed for most of the trip, she really is a good little traveler!
We saw alot of this!
And went past some Beautiful country!
This is Mount Shasta! Absolutely beautiful to look at!

More to come!

Happy 100th Birthday!

Scott's Grandma Farnes celebrated 100 years today! We drove to Walla Walla yesterday to help her celebrate! That is Scott's cousin Glenda on the other side of Grandma. We ALL gathered for a breakfast celebration!

We always enjoy our trips to Walla Walla and hope to return and spend a few days sipping some wine and enjoying the shops.

On our way home we stopped at this old gas station that was shaped as a teapot! So cute! I would love to have this in my back yard!

Hope you had a great weekend!
