Finally got this to work! UGH!!! =/

Sorry it took so long for me to get back with this post! My goodness took a couple days for me to figure out the changes that blogger incorporated in my little upgrade of more space, NOT an easy task. I almost was afraid I was going to have to start a whole new blog. Anyway, I think I have it figured out (I hope, *fingers crossed*).
So the green chalk board I am in love with too! Can't decide where is should go... maybe the kitchen?
I distressed the edges of this one also, I like to see the wood come through, makes me happy *grin*
It may need to go in the crafty studio!? Definitely will be headed to ReStore to purchase more of these cupboard doors for $3.00! I would like to do a couple red ones... maybe a purple one! This one only cost me $5.50 with cupboard and spray paint I bought at JoAnn with a 50% off coupon.
Or I may just move it around to different rooms haha!

I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY weekend to my friend Jessica! (this post was created Thursday)

The hubby and I have lots of plans this weekend! Saturday morning we start with a mini photo shoot with carlyteephotography our third this year! Then we are headed to the apple orchard, the pumpkin patch, the corn maze, the Lynden Craft and Antique Fair and lunch! The hubby may take me on my first flight in the new airplane too! We will see how the weather is. I am hoping on Sunday to take a picnic lunch up to Mt Baker! Hope you enjoy a fall weekend too!

ReStore treasures

Ughh, I have spent the last 2 hours trying to upload photos to Costco photo for a few mini books I need to make! So frustrating... why can't the shopping cart save my cropped photos? I think I will just print them at home instead!!! Anyhoo,
Above is my ceramic pumpkin I painted at my friend Andrea's Birthday at CreaTiviTea, I am so pleased with how it came out! I had wanted to do lace but the gals there didn't think it would work, so I did yarn instead! Yay!
The hubby and I made a trip to ReStore yesterday, I am still looking for a big chunky old piece of wood to use for my downstairs fireplace mantel, so I like to stop in every once in a while to check out the options! While there I knew that I wanted to also check for a door to put outside... remember this post and this post? I found one! Yippee!!! $15.00 and that baby was mine!
I can't decide which side I like better the one above? Old wood?
Or the red? The are both lovely I think ;) What do you think? They had an old set of white french doors I wanted to get for my craft cottage idea too, but the hubby talked my out of it for two reasons.
#1- He isn't a fan of the craft cottage idea.
#2- He didn't think they would be very energy efficient if I wanted to stay warm out there.
So, I had to leave them behind (for now, hehe!)
While shopping with my sister in a couple consignment boutiques in Utah, we came across quite a few chalkboards that had been created using old cupboard doors, so I picked up 2- $3.00 doors at ReStore to try this out. This one I will make up to give away.
This one will be for me =D I like the square shape and the "frame". So I am off to Lowes to get spray paint, I already have a can of chalkboard paint. See you tomorrow with my finished chalkboards!
One more thing, as you may remember, September we have spiders everywhere? We still have a few here and there, but in October, we have different mushrooms popping up everywhere, so cute =D

Have a lovely day...

More yard sale updates

This is one of the pots I bought ($1.50 at the yard sale) I spray painted it white and glued marbles from Dollar Tree onto it. The spray paint was $3.98 and the marbles $ 1.oo for each package. I used one package of the clear stars for all my products and one package of the blue. The extras went into the little candle holder.
Here is the other one ($1.00). I am very happy with how they turned out! I plan to look for more next weekend.

And this is where I placed them, the perfect place to read a book and watch the birds! Ahhh, relaxing :)

Coffee, bagels, beach and yard sales!

This morning we had no regular coffee in the house, oops, I thought maybe I could have some nice flavored coffee for a change, but the hubby said  "no way"! So I had a backup plan! :) Coffee and bagels on the beach! And some yard sales since we are out and about so early!
So after a stop at The Bagelry for coffee and bagels to go, we headed for Squalicum Beach. Yes, the sun has decided to leave us for a couple days, but that is okay with us!

These are my finds  for the morning. I spent $12.00. It would have been less, but one of the sales was for charity, so I doubled what they quoted me.

Most of these pieces are going to be refurbished. Hubby has gone to play with his friends in the woods, Koko and I are headed to Lowes to finish refurbishing our goodies. I'll be back soon with the results.

Have a FUN day!
