Happy Mothers Day 2009!

Happy Mothers Day! This is how my Mothers day started..... as you know I have not had a Vanilla no foam Latte in over 3 weeks! So I decided it wouldn't hurt to have one today, with a cranberry orange scone. We will work in the yard today, so I think it will be okay, from what I've read. I've lost 6 pounds so far and have pretty much cut all sugar (of any kind) out of my eating and no white flour, thank goodness for Trader Joes!
These beauties showed up on my door step last night.... they came from the kids. So pretty, I love them, the kids too ;)

Happy Mothers Day to my mom, she taught me how to be a great mom, well person really. She is very fun, caring and creative, and I want to be just like her! Thanks mom, I love you.
And Happy Mothers Day to my mom- in- law! I am so lucky to have a wonderful mom-in-law, she too is fun, caring and creative! You raised a wonderful son. We love you Jeanne!

And again Happy Birthday to my sis Becky!

Hope you all have a wonderful Mothers Day!

An awful funny looking squirrel! hehe!

I haven't had any time to be crafty lately, hopefully this weekend though! *grin* I do want to share a picture of what I came home to yesterday. Our neighborhood deer decided he liked the squirrel food. He ate every last bit of it! He usually hangs around the neighborhood and eats the weeds and trees and *daydreams* about getting in the gates to eat the flowers, but today I guess he decided if squirrel food was good enough for the squirrels and the birds to argue over, it was good enough for him too!
Have a great day!

Flying over the San Juan Islands

I did not get to post yesterday, I had to get my mom to the shuttle stop early to catch the shuttle from Bellingham to Vancouver. Here are the pictures of our trip over the islands Monday night. It was the perfect time to go! We did not have a single bump.

We flew just up to the Canadian border, Victoria was just off to the right of us, we looked for whales but did not see any. The picutre above is Mt. Baker in the background.

Our personal tour guide and pilot! What a cutie!

We finished the night with Gelato in Fairhaven and watched the sunset from out front on a bench.

Have a great day!

Tennant Lake Hovander Park

Yesterday Scott, my mom and I visited Tennant Lake and Hovander Park in Ferndale. It was beautiful and warm :) Their is a Fragrance Garden there and a natural wildlife habitat. We did not make it to the farm.... I am hoping if my sis makes it in a couple weeks we will head to the farm. The pic is of the viewing tower.

This is a picture of the Fragrance Garden from the top of the viewing tower.

After dinner we walked on the pier and watched the sun set. It was a great day! Tonight we plan on having Scott fly us over the islands, it is a beautiful sun filled day today! YAY!

Have a great day!

Cornwall Park Rose Garden

Sorry I did not get to post yesterday, blogger was being difficult the couple times I tried to log in it would not let me.

My mom and I got to check out Cornwall Park Rose Garden, it is a little Rose garden, but very pretty. We found this one called 4th of July!

Since my mom has arrived we have already had dinner at Skylarks downtown Fairhaven, and Black Cherry icecream cones downtown Fairhaven.

Today we went to a couple used book stores, the Farmers Market downtown Bellingham, and had fish and chips at Jackies, downtown Fairhaven, mmm, good stuff! Tomorrow on our list of things to do is Homestead and Tennant Lake and find Edaleens Dairy, for some fresh icecream cones for .55 cents! And maybe a little stamping too! :)

Have a great day!

Lake Samish

We spent Sunday afternoon on Lake Samish which is about 3 miles down the road from our house. It was a perfect day, the hottest we have seen since moving here, 86 degrees! woohoo! This is a picture of Jett wearing his new life vest, isn't he cute? He loved it! Jett is a new daddy to 4 puppies born Friday night so his mama, Dedra thought he should get away for the day... I am sure that his missus, Bella was not happy with him! heheh! I am hoping one of those puppies will be coming to my house. I haven't gotten the okay from my hubby, yet! *wink*

This is a picture of Scott, my hubby, trying to wake board.... he was not successful, but that's okay he looked good trying. *grin* Good job babe! Better luck next time!

And this is a pic of my friend Dedra pulling her son Kyle behind the boat, he will only let his mama drive while he is boarding he doesn't like to go too fast.

Well, that was our Sunday. I will be back tomorrow with some cards to show you.
Have a great day!

Roses!

They told me when I moved to Bellingham I could not grow roses here..... hhmmm, I think that is a rose in the picture, and it's at my house, and that is my hand next to it. Yes, the rose is the size of my hand! I am glad I did not listen to them. I planted 3 rose bushes last year, the other 2 are just getting ready to bloom.

This is a wild flower here in Bellingham, aren't they pretty? They are all over along with little yellow buttercups, and wild pink roses. So pretty.

This is my frog, that lives in and around my pond. I gave him some friends yesterday. I got 4 goldfish for the pond. I should have taken a picture when they were in the bag, cause they are very shy.

It has been just beautiful the last few days, high of 85 with a nice little breeze off the bay. We are headed to the lake to go boating with our friends Dedra and Mark. I'll post some pics later...

Have a beautiful, sunny day!

Summer?

Has summer finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest? We woke up to a spectacular blue sky and sun shining morning! Yay! I guess the top will finally go down on my car!

This is the view of Bellingham Bay from my back yard. Love it. I sat on the back porch and watched the birds and squirrels argue over the food and drank my coffee.

Yesterday was Jestin's Birthday, Happy Birthday Jes! He decided he wanted Sloppy Joes for dinner with spinach salad and Brownies for dessert. So, that is what he got. But, somehow one of my bags of groceries did not make it home with me a couple days ago, so the birthday napkins and carrots (I haven't missed anything else yet) did not make it home. So, I improvised. Don't know why I forgot I could make my own?! I will be doing that from now on! So simple and cheap!

Have a great day!
