Thanksgiving 2009

Sorry, I didn't mean to disappear like that! Let's finish Thanksgiving, cause Christmas is almost here! LOL!
This is my Grandma.... she is not doing as well as she probably could. :(
Me, Trinity, Genna and Jestin!
Matt, Adam, Colton, and Justin! I'm not sure how I managed to not get pictures of my dad, stepmom, uncle and aunt.....
Jestin and Scott at Jestin's apartment.

The summit between Nevada City California where my dad lives, going to Reno Nevada where the kids live. It was slow going.... took us an extra hour, but it sure is pretty!

The hubby picked some mistletoe for his loving wife! Hehe! He didn't know that mistletoe grew in trees, I kept seeing it as we were driving home thru Oregon, so he decided to pull over to pick some! Isn't he sweet? I think so! *wink*

I think Koko was happy to get out of the car at the end of the trip! 15 hours each way, that does include fuel and potty breaks. But so worth it! It was great to see my family, the kids and their apartments, even had a surprise visit with Scott's brother, his wife and brother in law while in Reno. We are very happy that all three kids are happy and well. Even more glad that they are their for each other.

Hope your Thanksgiving was just as thankful!

Broken camera :(

Scott accidently dropped my camera and broke a small piece off the cover for the batteries, it still works, but I have to hold it closed tightly while I take pictures and download to my laptop. I am hoping Santa will bring me a new one..... it is making it difficult to take pictures and post on my blog. I finally finished the project above. I LOVE how it turned out!

I made a trip to Dollar Tree today to try to finish my Christmas shopping. I like to use things from Dollar Tree for wrapping, etc... it is so inexpensive. They have so many cute things right now! I am going to alter those felt trees with family pictures as ornaments, I will post a picture when I get them done. I bought a few inexpensive things for my Secret Santa at work too! I wanted her to have a little something to open every day for the 2 weeks we are gifting each other. I will add a few things to the other felt trees, and the snow flakes will be cute hanging in the livingroom windows!

I bought Koko a little red and white stripped sweater to wear this winter when we walk. Doesn't she look cute?

She has been wearing it all afternoon and I think she likes it! :)

Hope you had a good weekend!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Last night I met a couple friends at the hubby's and my favorite restaurant Skylarks. My friend Jessica was celebrating a birthday. (She is in the middle in the picture above) My other friend Amber went too!

After dinner we went next door to CreativiTEA, yay! I have been wanting to go ever since I moved to Bellingham, but didn't want to drag the hubby there kicking and screaming, hehe!
I picked my latte mug, my paints, and my stamps...
Jessica ordered tea for us! She always thinks of everything! It was really good too. Thank you Jessica!
They have LOTS of pottery to choose from. I can't wait to go again!
Amber painted a purple ring holder...
Jessica painted a black coffee cup with purple sponged over it...
And I sponged my latte mug two colors of blue, stamped some seashell shapes in blue and then sponged some starfish salmon color in a few spots here and there.
Can't wait till Saturday when we can pick them up and see how they turned out! Thank you so much girls for inviting me! I LOVED spending time with you and can't wait to do it again, when are we making soap???

Hope you had a creative evening with friends too!

Golf or driving range?

Yes, today we golfed...
Or, technically hit a bucket of balls at the driving range.
Here's a picture of our "new to us" clubs. Thank you craigslist! (Mine are the purple and black bag, LOL!) My little stand is broken. But they are pretty :)
I didn't try this technique, it was funnier, I mean funner to watch! He he!
(Scott has asked me to let you all know, that he was in the sand trap on purpose, to practice! LOL!)
All in all we had a good time! It was a great way to spend the afternoon, outside in the crisp fall weather with my sweet hubby! I'll go hit a bucket of balls with him anytime! ;)

One more post, our dinner this evening. Yum!

Dinner in Friday Harbor

We had Scott's sis and hubby here last week. We wish we could have spent more time with them! Thursday night we decided to meet them in Friday Harbor for dinner and fly them back to Anacortes to pick up their car. It was a fabulous night to fly! Scott may have created a monster with this one! I LOVED Friday Harbor! (the pic above is Bellingham and Mt Baker)
We snapped a few photos on our way! Don't I look relaxed? It was such a beautiful evening for a flight over the islands!
This is our landing in Friday Harbor.....
When we were eating dinner, we watched the ferries come in and out.
We ate at a great place outside! It was perfect! We will be going back!
And I am ordering this...... my fish and chips were delish, but I think it would be fun to have the crab at Fridays Crabhouse.
This is Scott and his sis!
After dinner and ice cream cones, we walked back to the airport for the short flight to Anacortes. I knew I should have checked a map, they had a bit of a walk from the airport to the ferry terminal where they left their car. Sorry guys:( now we know....

Then Scott and I flew back to Bellingham! It was a perfect evening.

First commissioned work!

Recently one of my friends/coworker asked me to help her with a wedding shower gift. She wanted to frame the brides wedding invite.

Above and below is my stamp space after creating for a day! I have had a few people ask me to post what it looks like! LOL!

I am soo HAPPY with how this turned out! After talking and getting her ideas we decided I would just create the item and she would pay me. WooHoo! My first commissioned work! I used all parts of the invitation. The invitation was very different as you can see. She wanted to keep it simple, so I kept it simple, but elegant I think. I used black rhinestone's for the center of the flowers rather than buttons. Remember you can click on the image to make it larger.
After giving her a little preview of the frame, I asked her if she would like me to also make a card to go with it! She was so excited I could do that for her. Above is the close up of the card. The brides colors are pink and black.
This is a closeup of the flowers.... blurry I know, sorry.
And this is a closeup of the vinyl I used from my LSS. I think she will LOVE it! Oh, the bride too! LOL!

Greek Festival 2009

Scott and I spent the evening at the Greek Festival. It is so fun to go each year and people watch, try new foods, listen to the music.
Their seems to always be a group of people who need to get up and dance, I have to admit, I came pretty close this year to wanting to do the same!
This year Scott had the lamb dinner, I of course had the gyro. I love them! I did not take a picture of our dinner, I didn't want to embarrass the hubby! But I did take a picture of our desserts and coffee. Above is Scott's baklava.
This year I had the Loukoumades, yummy honey donuts with cinnamon. We had not had the coffee before either and it was delish!
Everyone waited for the sun to set.....

And the professional dancing began! This group came down from Vancouver BC to dance.
It was a great evening! Can't wait for next year... we plan on taking a tour of the chapel!

What did you spend your evening doing?
