Brrr, baby it's cccollddd outside!

 16. 16 degrees outside as I type this. Bbrrrr! I thought I left these temperatures when I left Nevada! I understand that they are at 0 degrees and are expecting -6 and -13 later in the week, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining! I took the picture above on Friday. Before it snowed! I couldn't resist the white caps on the water.
So what have I been up to?  Umm, NOT packing stuff up! haha! My friend Andrea came over and sewed the coffee sack pillows last week.
She did an awesome job! The sacks were not the easiest fabric to be working with.
She brought lattes from SB which was soo sweet of her.
She is leaving in January... I am going to miss her!  Isn't that pillow Cu-ute?! So Pottery Barn ;)
I have been trying to finish my Christmas presents for the year. I have made 5 necklaces for special people in my life...
I can't show ALL of them, but can show you a couple.
Thank you to my very sweet friend Jessica for teaching me how to make these necklaces, so fun to make. You may remember the purple one she made for me, which is perfect, I love the purple starfish that are in the waters here.
 It snowed Friday night, YUCK!
We woke up to about 4 inches.
And clear skies, which means COLD!
The color of the water is soo blue with the snow and clear blue sky.
 The hubby shoveled Saturday morning.
Sunset was gorgeous Saturday night. The hubby and I ended up having a HUGE crab dinner. I bought 5 pounds, just a little too much, so we had crab cocktails Sunday night!
I finished my coffee sack bulletin board, it will be so pretty in the guest bedroom.
I finished my pillow too! I failed to get a picture of my first batch of fudge for the season, but will take a picture of the next batch.
I went to my first and second Bikram Yoga classes, thanks to my friend Lisa for letting me go with her. I was worried about the heat, but I just breathe through the few moments of panic that occasionally hit me and so far so good! EVERY muscle in my body hurts though!
Today is a pamper day. Getting my hair colored and cut, and a pedicure and my nails done, woohoo! So no yoga, but I will go again tomorrow. This is the sunset from the front window Sunday night, GORGEOUS!
Have a great week, and stay warm!

Purple starfish and a new hobby.

I am not sure what is going on with my signature line in my older posts... but I am aware they are not showing up.
We had a gorgeous sunset a couple nights ago. Love all the purples and grays. This was the sunset from our front window, one of my favorite things about this house.
I wanted to share a necklace that my friend Jessica made for me. I love the purple starfish!

I love all the little knots.
I am going to learn to make them for Christmas presents. Jessica said she would teach me. =D
I have decided to take up a new hobby too! Do you know what is in these boxes?

Does this help?
Hand stamped metal jewelry is very popular right now, my hubby just happened to own these boxes of goodies, he was using them to label his tools! But I have stolen them. =)

I want to make things like this! Etsy has tons of sellers of this kind of jewelry too, if you are interested!

Beaded Bracelets

On Thursday I had a chance to drive to Oak Harbor and see a friend of ours Amanda, I've mentioned her before. Her hubby is on deployment and she just had her second baby about 6 weeks ago. Above is her older boy Danny.
I mentioned in an older post that I had been doing some beaded bracelets lately. I was able to finish the other three that I had been working on. I couldn't go empty handed to Amanda's house so I took her a bracelet and some jam! =)
This one is peaches and pinks, it was my favorite until I did the one below.
The one above is my favorite so far. The colors are lavender and silver. I like the vintage look of the silver beads.
I was a little skeptical of the colors in this one but it actually looks pretty in real life. Copper, teal and shades of mossy green.
This is the one I posted a few days ago, I added a little charm on each that I found at JoAnns, it's a heart that says made with love! Love it!

I packaged Amanda's bracelet and card in a cellophane bag and used a clip that I attached buttons and ribbon to close it.
This is the card I did for her, I am not sure where all this orange is coming from lately? Maybe too much sun! LOL! Glad for the rain we got yesterday, I may be ready for fall!
The card and the bracelet together.

Not sure I will be able to part with this one! I am still going to try to do some matching earrings with some of the bracelets, it's been fun!

Catch up on crafty stuff...

Warning this is a crafty post!!!
It's been a while since I posted any crafty things so I thought I would post a few of the things I have done in the last few weeks. A few cards...for a couple of special friends!

I had fun adding a couple personal touches.
A little jewelry making... hadn't done any in about a year or more! My cousin Rachel and my friend Jessica inspired me to get back into it!
I am working on a few more, but ran out of beads! Ha! I was trying to use up what I had on hand.
I think I will do a pair of earrings to go with this bracelet.
I have been giving out my homemade Triple Berry Jam to different hostesses and friends, and of course I need to decorate them before giving them! =)
A little fabric, ribbon and buttons and its done!
Loving my wrinkle ribbon! I am having a hard time using it! Hehe! But I know where to get more ;) ETSY! I could try making my own, hmmm maybe I will.
I hadn't made any wine labels lately either! Picked this bottle up at Trader Joes.
Stamped a new label using waterproof labels and the Festive Labels stamp set from here. (The stamp set is at the top of the page and the labels are on the bottom of the page.)
Used some ink to make the label look a little aged and added buttons then cut around the image pulled the backing off and stuck it to the bottle.
I then made a vintage-y looking tag to go around the top with some fabric, buttons, ribbon, an antiqued paper doily and a flower made from an old book page.
Such a fun hostess gift! One of my favorites to give!
Yes, my bottle came out of the fridge! Haha! I wanted to make sure it was ready to serve when I gave my gift, so I chilled it then decorated it then chilled it somemore!

Have a lovely evening!
