Chandelier is up!

The hubby rented a 12 foot ladder Thursday to put up the chandelier!
This guy is afraid of heights! But he got the chandelier hung just for me =)
I LOVE it! I purchased it online from CSN stores and am soo pleased, I will use them again soon!
 Isn't it pretty?!
I took a couple shots of it this morning too!

He also surprised me with this! A leaf blower! YAY!

We are headed to the airport, back later with a post!

Snow, mountains and "One little word 2011"

This morning we had snow, yuck!
Okay, maybe it was a little pretty.
But this afternoon it all cleared up, and was stunning! This is the view from the media room windows.
 The mountains are in Canada.
 I love it!
I have been reading blogs posts tonight about "One little word for 2011" I am still thinking that 2011 my word will be GIVE.
My little word this year was BALANCE and last year was COMPLETE. Having "One little word" helps to keep me focused and inspired all year, have you got a word for 2011 yet?

I took a few outdoor pics the other day and thought I would share them. The kitchen door entrance, so far this is the door everyone uses!
I picked up all the greenery after a wind storm and used them all over the tables outside.

The hubby cleaned out the courtyard fireplace, while he was waiting for the hot tub to refill.
The garage is coming along, we will be painting the countertops with some paint we found at the hardware store. I am hoping to stain the floor too.
We rented a dumpster to put all the garbage in. It was filled in a couple hours! haha!
Still working on getting the chandelier hung up, maybe this weekend?!
Back soon with another post!

Thanks for sticking around!

Doorknobs...

Most of the door knobs in the new house have been changed out to these beauties. This is the front door,
 this is the kitchen door.
All of these ugly things are being changed to black ones, much better =)

Our Christmas 2010

Hope you had a great Christmas! We took the day off from moving and enjoyed the day in our jammies.
 Had yummy crepes for breakfast.
Had lamb for dinner with Apple-blackberry pie for dessert.
We have changed out some outdoor light fixtures... the ones above are ug-ly!
These are the new pretty, better proportioned ones =)
Back with more soon!

Time out for fun...

I took some time out from moving yesterday to have a gift exchange party with a few of my friends.
We had coffee and homemade treats.
 Exchanged gifts.
And spent almost 3 hours chatting.
It will be so fun to have more get togethers with these girls =)
Since the camera was out I took a few pictures to share of the house decorated for Christmas.
I didn't put out too much this year.
Well, enough play, time to resume the moving...
Still hoping to get everything out of the other house before Christmas. Thanks for stopping in today!

A bit of an update!

Yes, we bought a new house and have been busy cleaning, packing, moving and unpacking! It is alot of work! haha! Hopefully we won't be doing it again, ever!
Luckily, we only moved a mile away from our other house, so that has made it easier. A little.
The house has so many of the things we were looking for... one level living, privacy, courtyard, chicken coop, with chickens (six to be exact) studio, 3 car garage...
It does need some work in the kitchen, guest bath and guest bedroom.
But it had too many things we loved, to not buy it.
It has straw on the kitchen walls, but I actually kinda like it.
The gas fireplace has been wonderful! I have lit it every night for at least a half hour.
Some of our furniture, (all of the pictures in this post are from when we had the inspection, so none of this furniture is ours) seems so small for this house.
It will be a fun project to shop Craigslist and thrift stores for furniture. I am hoping to use the garage to paint some furniture.
Having the six chickens has been fun, Koko and I let them out each morning then walk the 3/4 acre lot. The chicken coop also has a green house attached which will be fun come spring.
 The house as 3 ponds...

Well, thats it for now. I will try to take some pics of our furniture in the house. Right now my goal is to empty the other house out this week, so I can finish painting over there and get it cleaned for the renters. But I am planning on decorating this house for Christmas too, so I will get some pics posted.

Have a great week!
