A day spent with the hubby!

I had to break out the boots yesterday! Yay! Means FALL is really here!
We had a rainy Sunday. Normally, we would stay home, have tea, I would read while the hubby dozed and "watched" the history channel. Maybe have a fire in the fireplace, nice "keep warm and dry" type things.

This rainy Sunday was different. We spent the day with the airplane.
It is a little on the cool side with the wet weather and being in the hanger so I brought Koko's travel bag with food, water, a towel and toys.
I brought a book and my second Starbuck's of the day! The hubby brought the chairs and a blanket in case I needed it. =)
He worked on cleaning the airplane, and waxing the airplane.
She played. She was recently groomed and they put bows in her hair, usually I tell them not to, but I forgot this time. Ooops!
He worked for about 5 hours with only a couple breaks for food and water.

I have a feeling we will be spending many rainy days here, but thats okay... I'd rather be with him than anywhere else! And luckily, he feels the same! =)
We had some visitors when we came home, so cute! We haven't seen as many of them this year, so I was happy to have them come for a visit. I think maybe Koko keeps them away more than I realized. She keeps a pretty good patrol on the yard! Haha!

Hope you stayed warm and dry this weekend!

Forgotten Easter egg and baby bunnies...

When the three little kids were here for Easter we hid LOTS of eggs Easter morning. Both real ones and plastic ones! ( Above is Morgan, Matt, Trinity holding Koko, and Colton)
Well, I guess one got left behind, and guess who found it one morning in the back yard! She was NOT going to give up her treasure!
She also found this... look a little closer...
You can just barely make out the bunny ears. We have a bunny nest in the back yard. Unfortunately, she found it and brought one to me. It didn't make it :( she tried to be gentle with it but dropped it a few times before I realized what she had. She also brought one to Scott, since he didn't read my text to not let Koko out in the backyard unless she was supervised due to her having found a bunny nest. His didn't make it either :( But now we know it is there, and Koko is staying away. Mommy bunny comes a few times a day to care for the ones that are left. I plan to try to take pictures once a week to document them growing up! Should be fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Birch Bay January 2010

We are having really mild temperatures this year, no snow. So the beach was calling!

Hope you had a great day too!

Every September through October, they arrive....

I decided it was probably a good day to put away all the outdoor furniture.... every year at this time in the Pacific Northwest they arrive.....
Everywhere. Can you see them? Spider webs everywhere! We don't need fake ones for Halloween we have the real deal! LOL!!!
I have been told they are in mating season.
They are beautiful and beneficial I know, but I HATE walking into them!
Why can't they build them where I DON'T walk?

Goodbye Kelsey, Welcome home Jessica

I made this frame and card for my friend and coworker Kelsey. She is leaving to go to school in Seattle. I will miss her. She is very sweet and smart! Good luck Kelsey! See you at Christmas :)
I made this frame and card for my friend and coworker Jessica. She and her sweet hubby just bought a new house up at Birch Bay!
When I came home from work yesterday at lunch, I found this cutie visiting Koko. Koko was not happy he was in her yard!

I am working on some house painting projects today... and hope to make a trip to the scrapbook store too. I ordered some syrup bottles online last night. My friend and coworker Kathi brought me a HUGE plastic box of blueberries yesterday! So I am going to freeze some, and make syrup for Christmas presents with the rest! I may need to make a few little pies too, she brought me alot, I will take a picture and post it later!

Looking forward to another beautiful sunny day in the Pacific Northwest! Hubby is flying all day but will take a walk on the beach later this afternoon!

House 2 on the tour

Look at that Clematis! Fantastic! This is the second house on the tour.....
Don't miss the chandelier hanging above the table, I have been looking for one for quite a while for my bedroom, may need to look for one to put outside too! I love this idea. I have one in my back yard that is for candles, but this is an even better idea!
Not sure if this was alive at one time or not.....

This hydrangea is gorgeous!

This is the artists workshop, somehow, the picture I thought I took did not turn out of the inside.
Love the idea of the seashells in the cement.... going to use that idea too!

Notice the size of the leaves! Huge!
Lots of color!

Love this little tricycle too... going to keep my eye out for one, maybe put a basket on the front for flowers?

Next house coming up!

Squires Lake

I was reading one of the local blogs here in Bellingham the other day and she was talking about hiking at Squires Lake, so I brought the info home to Scott and we took off after dinner to Squires Lake 2.2 mile hike.
These wild flowers greeted us at the parking lot.
The trail was gorgeous, once again as ALL the trails in the area are. This picture makes it look like it was an easy hike, I should have taken a picture of the uphill part, we had to hike uphill to get to where the lake was, then you can hike all the way around the lake.

This was my first time seeing a snail, isn't it cool!
We found this on the trail too! Such a pretty color, Scott wouldn't let me bring it home to match a paint to. There were lots of different birds there, our next trip I am bringing my binoculars and bird book. We were the only ones on the trail, which doesn't happen very often! No fish in the lake that we could see, lots of frogs croaking. We can't wait to take a picnic dinner and go again next week!

Have a great weekend!

Father's Day 2009!

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers in our lives! You are each very special to us and we are glad you are in our lives.
As you can see, our Father's Day breakfast was healthier than our Mother's Day breakfast was! I found these great tortillas that are corn and wheat, YUM! We had breakfast burritos with them. I've lost 9 pounds, but have not done so well on the walking lately. I did have 2 s'mores though :) while camping, somethings their is no substitute for and we did do some walking... so I am okay with that.

Have a fabulous evening!
