Stoney Ridge Farm Oct. 2010

Our next stop on Saturday was Stoney Ridge Farm! The day was absolutely gorgeous so clear and crisp. Mt. Baker off in the distance, barns everywhere, fall color and my bestest friend ever, the hubs =)
The line was long to get into the farm this year.
It is such a cute place to go, this is the gift shop. I was on a mission to make our first stop the donut shop, we had to wait in line for about 15 minutes to get a bag of hot little bites of apple cider donuts! I love them, I ate almost the whole bag myself! By the time we came back to the gift shop it had a line too,
I am still trying to purge all the stuff I have, so we didn't go in this year.
Every little nook and cranny of this place is decorated. People were everywhere, so I snapped pictures as fast as I could!
Cute farm art all over too!
Old farm truck, this is where we usually take our picture, but everyone else had the same idea so I just snapped a fast one of just the truck this year.
 Fun scarecrows for photo ops!
We finally went back to the wall with all the enamel pans on it for our picture, then left as fast as we could! There were lines for the pumpkin patch about 30 minutes. Next year we will go on a Thursday or Friday, Saturdays are just too busy!
YUM! The reason I braved the crowds to begin with, Apple Cider Donuts. The bag was full, I had 2 left and realized I hadn't take a picture Oopsies!
Our last stop was the Lynden Craft and Antique Fair. Again I am still purging my home of "stuff" so I didn't buy much. I couldn't resist a jar of mica, a jar of German glass glitter, and a bag of shredded sheet music.
I made a little photo collage of our day! (click on the picture to make it bigger, please!) Back in a bit with my maiden voyage in the new airplane!

Fall fun with the hubby

The first thing we did yesterday morning was go get our pictures taken by Carly Tee Photography for our Mini photo shoot. This time we took Koko and we got to wear Santa hats! All three of us! *giggle* Can't wait to get the CD in the next couple weeks... hoping we can use one for Christmas cards *wink*
We dropped Koko off at home, this is her "why can't I go too" look? Doesn't she look sad. Unfortunately where we were headed doesn't allow doggies.
After lunch our first stop was Bellwood Acres for apples, cider and mulling spices, YUM!
The day was just perfect! Clear blue skies, 60 degrees!
The apples were just HUGE and crisp!
Loved the cute wire forms to turn your pumpkin into a spider. The hubby said he would make me one, so I didn't buy one. They used large washers for the eyes!
Lots of pumpkins and mums for photo ops all around the farm.
One of our favorite places to go in the fall!
The hubby bought a caramel apple.
He said it was delish. I wouldn't know, he didn't even offer me a bite! haha!
We came home with Honeycrisp apples, mulling spices, and cider.
Hope you had a chance to spend some time enjoying fall too! I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of our day!
Hoping to fly with the hubby today, and maybe a picnic lunch at Mt. Baker. Enjoy!

Finally got this to work! UGH!!! =/

Sorry it took so long for me to get back with this post! My goodness took a couple days for me to figure out the changes that blogger incorporated in my little upgrade of more space, NOT an easy task. I almost was afraid I was going to have to start a whole new blog. Anyway, I think I have it figured out (I hope, *fingers crossed*).
So the green chalk board I am in love with too! Can't decide where is should go... maybe the kitchen?
I distressed the edges of this one also, I like to see the wood come through, makes me happy *grin*
It may need to go in the crafty studio!? Definitely will be headed to ReStore to purchase more of these cupboard doors for $3.00! I would like to do a couple red ones... maybe a purple one! This one only cost me $5.50 with cupboard and spray paint I bought at JoAnn with a 50% off coupon.
Or I may just move it around to different rooms haha!

I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY weekend to my friend Jessica! (this post was created Thursday)

The hubby and I have lots of plans this weekend! Saturday morning we start with a mini photo shoot with carlyteephotography our third this year! Then we are headed to the apple orchard, the pumpkin patch, the corn maze, the Lynden Craft and Antique Fair and lunch! The hubby may take me on my first flight in the new airplane too! We will see how the weather is. I am hoping on Sunday to take a picnic lunch up to Mt Baker! Hope you enjoy a fall weekend too!

One white chalkboard cupboard =)

I managed to pull my head out of my book long enough to complete the white chalkboard! I am soo pleased with it!
I distressed it a bit around the edges with some sandpaper...
What do you think? The green one is almost done too, it may need to go in the crafty studio...

Hope you are having an extra fun filled day! See you tomorrow ;0)

Painting, dinner and reading

My chalkboard cupboard project is not quite done yet but here is a couple of pics while you are waiting!
I am actually loving this one now too! haha!
 Green Apple paint YUM!
the other one is Heirloom White.
The chalkboard paint takes a little while to dry, and I have been sanding in between layers, I may need to get the spray on kind.
I received the BEST thing today in the mail from my best friend Kari! Thank you soooo much Kari! Have you seen these? I wish I would have had one when I was doing all my traveling! It holds the VIA packages of coffee IN it!
See?! Very clever, thank you again Kari!
I am craving BBQ beef sliders... so I am going to attempt to make a healthy recipe for them. I have  a little roast in the crockpot with some red wine. I will let it cook for a few hours then drain the wine out and add some homemade bbq sauce using agave and shred the meat.
When done I will place them on these whole grain dinner rolls and serve with homemade healthy coleslaw! If it tastes okay I will post my recipes=D
In the meantime... I am on the final book and cannot put it down, so it may be a reading day! haha! I stayed up WAY too late last night reading ;)

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

ReStore treasures

Ughh, I have spent the last 2 hours trying to upload photos to Costco photo for a few mini books I need to make! So frustrating... why can't the shopping cart save my cropped photos? I think I will just print them at home instead!!! Anyhoo,
Above is my ceramic pumpkin I painted at my friend Andrea's Birthday at CreaTiviTea, I am so pleased with how it came out! I had wanted to do lace but the gals there didn't think it would work, so I did yarn instead! Yay!
The hubby and I made a trip to ReStore yesterday, I am still looking for a big chunky old piece of wood to use for my downstairs fireplace mantel, so I like to stop in every once in a while to check out the options! While there I knew that I wanted to also check for a door to put outside... remember this post and this post? I found one! Yippee!!! $15.00 and that baby was mine!
I can't decide which side I like better the one above? Old wood?
Or the red? The are both lovely I think ;) What do you think? They had an old set of white french doors I wanted to get for my craft cottage idea too, but the hubby talked my out of it for two reasons.
#1- He isn't a fan of the craft cottage idea.
#2- He didn't think they would be very energy efficient if I wanted to stay warm out there.
So, I had to leave them behind (for now, hehe!)
While shopping with my sister in a couple consignment boutiques in Utah, we came across quite a few chalkboards that had been created using old cupboard doors, so I picked up 2- $3.00 doors at ReStore to try this out. This one I will make up to give away.
This one will be for me =D I like the square shape and the "frame". So I am off to Lowes to get spray paint, I already have a can of chalkboard paint. See you tomorrow with my finished chalkboards!
One more thing, as you may remember, September we have spiders everywhere? We still have a few here and there, but in October, we have different mushrooms popping up everywhere, so cute =D

Have a lovely day...
