This is my second post today, so scroll down to read the other one if you haven't already!
I decided to add ribbon to my pumpkins I made the other day.
I also went to JoAnn and bought some cute fabric for my paper towel pumpkin. I am much happier with his looks now!
While I was visiting my nieces and nephews in California a few weeks ago they brought home some Zucchini muffins they had made at school that day from the garden they planted. (They go to a Charter school, wish I had been able to send my kids to one! They are really great!) Anyway, the muffins were delicious! So my sister and I got the recipe. I really wanted to substitute wheat flour and agave, but I am going to give some as a little gift, so I decided not to experiment with this batch.
See those little loaf pans? I bought those at World Market when I was visiting Genna. I thought they would make cute loaves for gifts.
The recipe made 12 muffins, 4 tiny loaves and I had some left that I put into a canning jar. When the kids made them they said to fill almost full so that is what I did... I shouldn't have. They overflowed a bit, so they did not turn out perfect. Haha!
While they were baking I tried to finish my front porch. I was really trying to buy a new/old wicker chair that I could spray paint black, but my Craigslist finds that I called on were already sold. I tried Goodwill this morning too, no luck.
I still need to add some pumpkins, but the stores don't have any yet, we will probably head out to one of the farms to get some next weekend.
I bought this throw at IKEA last year, I hope they have some this year.
This is my same burlap pillow, I just turned it around so it just shows the blank side!
Did you notice my wreath? I couldn't leave it alone, I had to add a little more!
A little welcome tag, hung with a clothes pin,
and a little bird pic I got on my second trip to JoAnn.
I finished the front porch just in time! I had to test one to make sure they were good, right? I mean they are going to be a gift! They are just as good as I remember! =0)
Edited to add the recipe!
Zucchini Bread or muffins
3 eggs (beat until fluffy)
1 cup oil (add to eggs)
in separate bowl mix:
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 Tblsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Add flour mixture to egg mixture and mix well. Fold into flour mixture 2 cups grated zucchini, packed. Add 2 tsp. vanilla and 1 cup chopped nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes for 2 loaves of bread.
350 degrees for 25-30 minutes for the muffins muffins. ENJOY! =0)
I did find a couple treasures at Goodwill! I scored this vintage looking seashell picture! Got it for $2.99! Is says it is from IKEA Sweden on the back?! It goes perfectly in my living room.
Also found this cute metal sign, I haven't decided where it will go, but it was only $1.99. By the way I saw lots of the items I donated a couple weeks ago while I was there.
Well, I am off to go decorate some bags, to stick my gifts into... I may not post tomorrow, it will be a long day! My friends and I are headed down to Shipwreck Beads in Lacey, and hopefully IKEA too! But I will take my camera with me and post Tuesday!

One more thing, I fiddled with my mantle too, I added a swag of leaves and vine I had in my stash. What do you think? Too much?
Hope you are enjoying a long weekend!
