Party time...

I went to my first Stampin Up workshop in over TWO years! It was sooo much fun! Forgot how much money I was saving every month NOT going! Hehe! Plus it is always fun hanging out with my friends Jessica and Lisa ;)
I LOVE this card, but I love butterflies and glitter... so I am sure you expected me to say that!
At first I wasn't too crazy about this card, but it would be a nice general card for little kidlets or for a guy so I think when my new "stuff" comes I will make some up for my stash.
While there, the girls and I signed up to go to a Stamp a Stack 20 cards for $30.00 including envelopes, so excited!

Easy peasy bench recover!

I have been trying to get the cottage ready for guests. Two of our kids are coming with their significant others tonight! I bought this cute vintage bench a couple years ago and decided to put it in the guest bathroom for guests to put their "things" on while getting ready for the day but the color on the cushion was a little to bright for the space.
It had been replaced before so it was easy to replace again. I actually love the fabric that was on it, so I decided to just leave it is place, and place my fabric over it.
I found this great grey velour remnant at JoAnn for only $2.62! Used my the hubbys staple gun easy peasy, done!
Works so much better for the space =)
See?
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a great week!

Inexpensive art...

I have been looking for some artwork for a few rooms at the cottage, but just haven't found what I was looking for. I noticed on a few blogs how popular framing quotes are right now and thought "I can do that". I found this large frame at Walmart for $5.00 11x14.
I needed a large piece of paper to back it, or 2 pieces of scrap book paper but I didn't want a line. So I decided to use fabric. I was able to find an inexpensive (.99 cents) piece that would work for now.
This is where it needed to go... oh and notice my smaller version already in place? Just printed a saying or quote I like onto cardstock, cut it to fit the frame and then for this one I glued a shell to the outside of the glass.
This is the quote I chose for my large frame.
Here it is in place. So simple.
The hubby installed the towel hooks and shelf in the guest bath for me a couple days ago =)
The bench got a new cover too!

St. Patrick's Day goodies...

I spent some time yesterday preparing for St. Patrick's Day. I found these cute printables here to cover my green Hawaiian Punch bottles. So easy to just print, cut and wrap around the bottle with a little glue dot.
These are for making small buntings, wrapping around toothpicks or straws. Somehow I didn't get a picture of the 2" circles I printed also. Go here to get your own!
Here are my finished wrapped bottles.
My little bunting.
The display so far my bottles, little goody bags, a jar of Lucky Charms, and mint Oreo cookies. I will be baking rainbow cupcakes and topping them with more little flags.
I used a 1 3/4 punch to punch the circles and placed them on a glittered scalloped punch to decorate my jar and goodie bags. I will place some on the cupcakes too! Go here and download some of these great printables too!

Stay dry today!

Garden notes notebook

I needed a little notebook to keep track of garden notes. I want to keep track of everything I plant and how it grows etc. I found this cute little notebook at Michael's in the dollar section and the ribbon in the $1.00 bin. Perfect beginnings to my notebook.
I also found this cute flower in the dollar section, it's cute, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted.
I found these blingy rhinestone flowers in the dollar section too, but still not quite it.
I looked in my stash at home and had picked these up a while ago at JoAnn, still not it.
This is what I ended up with! I love it! I used a $1.00 pick from JoAnn that I had already cut a few of the stems off of for my laundry soap jar. I used a tag from my stash that I inked the edges of with yellow and black ink. Used some black sticker letters from my stash also.
Simple and cute!
Now I can start garden plans =)

It is windy this morning! Hoping to get some painting done in the new laundry room!

Homemade laundry soap jar

While getting our other house ready to sell, I decided to "stage" the laundry area since the house is empty.
I bought the jar at Walmart for under $7.00, used this recipe to make my own laundry soap. Added a vintage jello mold for a scoop and created a tag.
I kept the tag pretty simple since I don't know what type of people will be looking at the house. I used a blank white tag I had in my stash, added some left over stickers from my banner project and some alphabet stickers to spell SOAP.  Finished with some of my wrinkle ribbon and a silk flower tied to the top.
I think if I don't get this one back when the house sells I may need to make another for the cottage!
